Where are Völkl skis made?
Since 1923, Völkl has manufactured skis in Straubing, Germany. Straubing is a Bavarian town about an
hour's drive north of Munich. Though we recently built a state-of-the-art production facility in Straubing, the
original factory is still in use as the Völkl World Logistics Center.

Völkl dealer in your area, please enter your zip code in the Dealer Locator on the right side of this page.
|
Can I order directly from this site?
Unfortunately, we can't sell skis directly to the public. However, soon visitors to the site will be
able to purchase Völkl accessory items, like caps and T-shirts.
|
Are Völkl retailers authorized to sell online?
Yes, some of them are. However, if you choose to make an online purchase of Völkl skis, please make
certain that the seller is an Authorized Völkl Retailer in the USA. Please understand that purchasing Völkl skis from
outside the United States or through an "auction" website will void warranty coverage.

Where can I demo Völkl Skis?
There are many demo events across the country in the early season. Virtually all of these events occur
between late November and early January. Unfortunately, because many of these events are not scheduled until reliable snow
conditions exist, it is impossible to list an accurate demo schedule here.
We suggest contacting the Völkl dealer nearest to where you are planning of skiing. You can use the dealer search function
to find their phone number. Chances are good that they will know of any upcoming demo events.
|
What do I do if I think I have a warranty problem?
First, please read Völkl Sport America's warranty policy.
If after reading that, you think you have a valid claim, please return the skis to an authorized Völkl dealer with a
copy of the purchase receipt. The original dealer is always the best choice. The dealer will handle the return for you.
|
How do I choose the proper ski size?
We recommend sizing skis with the "use your head" method. The key to this rule is simplicity. For
type 1 (novice) skier, size the skis with the tip approximately chin height. For type 2 (intermediate), use approximately nose
height. Type 3 (expert) skiers will be sized correctly when the ski tip is at forehead height. There are only a few exceptions
to be aware of, such as expert skiers looking for a slalom race skis race fit or powder specific skis. Slalom skis should be
sized shorter than these guidelines and powder skis sometimes longer. For best sizing, its best to ask authorized Volkl dealer.

Where can I get information on older Völkl Ski models?
Your local retailer is the best source of information about present and past products. However, the 2004/2005
and 2005/06 Ski Collections are still available for web viewing under the "Products" menu above.. For older skis, please
contact us with your question and we will answer it as best we can.
|
What are the "factory specs" for Völkl Skis?
The factory specs of all adult Völkl models are the same. We finish the skis with a 2° side
edge bevel and a 1° bevel on the base edge.
There is one exception to this rule for 2006/07: The Racetiger GS Race Stock in sizes 180 cm and longer leaves the factory
with no bevels. Please note that these skis need to be prepared before use.
Unless the base edge is severely damaged, do not base file the ski until it has been freshly stone ground.
Doing so will only increase the base bevel and you will sacrifice performance. Base bevels should be set using standard flat
filing technique. After finishing the base edge, the side edge should be tuned using a 2° file guide.
